• Rev. Karol Scotta

I am Rev. Karol Scotta and have been serving as the Spiritual Leader/Minister at Unity of the Westside since 2017. I lovingly serve this beautiful spiritual community in Culver City, CA.

I attended Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute and the Unity Urban Ministerial School. I was ordained through the Field Licensing Program by Unity in 2022 at Unity Village. I have a background in special education, Girl Scouts, and I am a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie tribe of Chippewa Indians.

In 1999, I founded, and I am the President of Options for Life, Inc. We are a community-based adult day program serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide volunteer work opportunities for participants to take part in, while also engaging in various community activities each week.

Since 2024, I have served the Unity Movement as a Unity Worldwide Headquarters board member. In November of 2025, Unity Worldwide Ministries and Unity Worldwide Headquarters members overwhelmingly voted to become one Unity. In 2026, I will serve as the Secretary of this Unity board.

In my life, Spirit always leads me to interesting and loving work. I love Unity of the Westside, Options for Life and UNITY!! Stop in on Sunday and meet our community. We will welcome you with open arms (a hug if you need/want one).

    President, Board of Trustees

I have been a member of Unity of the Westside for over 30 years, having brought my young family into the fold at the beginning of 1992 when we were looking for a family-friendly, loving, spiritual community of like-minded truth seekers in Culver City; all four of my children were raised with Unity principles. I have served actively on the Board of Trustees for most of these years, in the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. Past service has also included acting as the Youth Education Director, the Choir Director, and singing at Easter, Christmas Eve and member memorial services. I also enjoy and am honored to serve as the Guest Speaker at Sunday services, and have provided numerous talks before, during and after the pandemic. I feel very blessed to continue my service to this special spiritual community!
